Bachelor of Mass Media

The Bachelor of Mass Media course is a three-year, full-time degree that is affiliated with the University of Mumbai and offered to women, exclusively. Students now have access to one of the best mass communication courses after 12th- the Bachelor of Mass Media. The very aim of introducing this course was to train young, enthusiastic minds to understand the nuances and develop the skills required in the industry. 

The subject matter of the BMM Course for Women is deeply entrenched in a variety of media-related subjects, spanning from Journalism and Advertising to Public Relations and even Management. During the three-year mass media degree course, students will follow a rigorous semester system, of in-class learning coupled with practical assignments. 

Each semester, students will be evaluated based on their performance in the internal assessments, which are designed to train our students to enhance their communication skills, creativity and capability to critically analyse ideas, in order to better tackle their roles in the industry.

The Institute does not offer hostel facilities. Non-Mumbai resident students will have to make their own housing arrangements. The institute only facilitates students in getting safe accommodation facilities in the locality close to the institute.

The Bachelor of Mass Media program is an exclusive programme for women students only.

This 3 year full time graduate level program is offered by St Pauls Institute of Communication Education for Women and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The BMM for women degree ensures that every aspect of mass media is extensively covered by trained media professionals from the industry

Each semester consists of 6 papers.

Please note In the semester 5 the student will have to choose a specialization: either Journalism or Advertising  

*An earnest deposit of INR 5,000 will be collected in the First Semester. In case a student fails to complete the course, the earnest deposit will be forfeited. Otherwise, it will be refunded at the completion of the course.

N.B.: A fee receipt and Identity Card must be produced while applying for refund of fees or college deposits. 

NOTICE: Regular lectures for First Year B.M.M will commence on Monday, 8th July 2019 from 9.a.m onwards

Admission Open 2019-2020

  • As English is the language of instruction at St Pauls Institute of Communication Education For Women, Mumbai, proficiency in (speaking, listening to, reading and writing) English is essential.
  • Bachelor of Mass Media requires all applicants to have cleared their 12th class (10+2),in any discipline, from a Government Recognised Board.
  • St Pauls Institute conducts a personal interview(PI) for getting admission to this degree course. 
  • Applicants should score a minimum 50% of aggregate marks to apply for this course.

The weight age allotted for the admission in BMM is 50% for Arts and 25% for both Commerce and Science Stream.

 

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

  • The University of Mumbai has made it mandatory for all candidates seeking admission to the First Year courses in Degree Colleges to fill in the ‘Pre-Admission Online Registration Form’ on the following link http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac - click on: Pre Admission Online Registration. Dates for online registration will be announced by the University  in the first week of June.
  • Fill the online application form, remember to PRINT a copy of the form before completing the online submission to the University.
  • Submit the duly filled in SPICEFW Application Form, at the Institute office (2nd Floor, St Pauls Media Complex). Please note, the application form fee  is non-refundable.
  • Submit the duly completed forms (online and offline) to the BMM office.
  • Please submit the following documents (photo-copies) with the 2 application forms: 1) S.S.C Marksheet  & Passing Certificate; 2) H.S.C Marksheet & Passing 3) School & Junior College Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate.
  • PERSONAL INTERVIEWS(PI) will be conducted on June 20th and June 21st,  2019 from 9.30am- 4.00pm ONLY for those students who have completed and submitted the University's online pre-enrolment form and the college application form. ( This is for those students who have not yet appeared for the PI).

FEES
  • The fee for the programme & the mode of payment will be informed at the time of Admission.
  • Rs. 5,000/- needs to be paid at the time of admission as a security deposit which is refundable at the end of the course. The deposit is non-interest bearing and is refundable upon the student leaving the institute, subject to all annual fees being paid, and less any damages to property, etc.
  • All fees paid are non-refundable. Upon commencement of the course, if the student informs the Principal of the college, in writing, before the date of commencement of the term that she desires to cancel her admission, the refund, if any will be processed as per the guidelines {(Reference No. UG/412 of 2008) O.2859} prescribed by the University of Mumbai.  For cancellation requests received after the commencement of the term , the percentage of fees for the course shall be refunded to the candidate after deducting charges prescribed for self-financed/unaided courses.
