B.Voc in Journalism

B. Voc in Journalism degree is offered in partnership with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (SVE). The journalism course is for students who have just completed their 12th Std and who want to make a career in journalism.

The graduate program in Journalism prepares students in news writing, media ethics and law, mass communication, media management, radio journalism, photojournalism, print news reporting, editing and much more.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (SVE), a recognized public funded research university in Mumbai, is best suited for students who’d like to learn about the key philosophies and processes in journalism, mass media and want to pursue a career in journalism.

  • Learn the art of storytelling, the importance of photography and understand the different functions of documentaries.

A driven, talented journalist, will always find their niche either in print media, digital media, photojournalism, the area of regional news or media management.

The Vocational course is a three-year program that consists of a combination of Practical and Theory sessions (learning content provided by TISS).

Entrance exams on campus are followed by a personal interview conducted on the same day. Applicants must arrive at the scheduled time on campus for a day-long procedure.

Any student who has graduated from Class XII (Higher Secondary) or its equivalent from any recognized school board or university is eligible for admission. 

As English is the language of instruction at St Pauls Institute of Communication Education, Mumbai, proficiency in speaking, listening to, reading and writing English is essential.

Applicants to the B.Voc in Journalism Program must fill in the application form at SPICE, Mumbai and provide these documents:

  • 2 Passport sized photos
  • Most recent diploma/degree certificates or mark sheets if awaiting final exam results.

The fee for the programme is Rs. 51,200/-- Per Year. The Yearly fee can be paid in three instalments

All fees paid are non-refundable. Government charges as applicable will be levied.

Upon commencement of the course, no refund of fees is permissible.

A deposit needs to be paid at the time of admission as a security deposit, which is refundable at the end of the course.
